When we get older, it becomes harder to work out, harder to get what you need from your food like you used to, and harder to maintain your body and mind in general. Of course, this gets worse as we age. But they always suggest that you keep up an exercise routine and it will keep you more agile and youthful in general well into your older years. But there are a few extra things to do to help you here.
- Stand with your hands shoulder width apart-this gives you a stable point from which to start. From here you have a good core for just standing, but you can and should of course do other things such as weight lifting, squats, and otherwise.
- Pilates abs-we are all used to doing crunches and sit ups. But if you really want to work your abs, use pilates abs workouts. They are more useful, and they don’t cause damage to the back or other areas of the body as you would find with crunches or sit ups. They also target larger areas in general.
- Hip extensions-yes, squats are great. There is nothing bad to say about squats. But hip extensions actually give you greater length and a greater workout in various areas of the body instead of just one or two. They are more effective for less effort.
- Take a multivitamin-yes, if you focus on more protein, it can build more muscle to some degree. But the reality is that even with most protein shakes, it still has to wait for you to burn the carbs first, and extra protein, no matter how few carbs you may be eating will eventually be stored as fat.
